Swanback Jacks is a small hobby breeder devoted to the
English Jack Russell breed.  The kennel was named after the
beautiful area in Aroostook County, Maine,  where we used
to live.  Almost 12 years ago, I purchased my first English JRT
and from there the "fever" began.  Swanback's Jocco was
that first dog and he was fuel for the passion that is Swanback
Jacks.  We began competing in Racing and Go-to-Ground
events when Jocco was a year old.  I met some dear friends
along the way and, with their help, I learned the ropes and
kept JRT eventing annually.  From there, more terriers and
events were added and learned; history was made.

Swanback's main goal is to keep these lively terriers
healthy, both physically and mentally.  Swanback checks for
many hereditary/genetic diseases and does the best by the
terriers in means of physical fitness and nutrition.  It is
important that these often misunderstood terriers be placed
with proper families to ensure their mental and physical
wellbeing.  Please check our pages to help educate yourself
before deciding to add a Jack to your family.  Our links refer
you to many credible sources to help with your decision.
Enjoy and as always,
Thank you for visiting Swanback Jacks;

Upcoming Events 2008:   NADAC agility in Hampton Falls, NH September 6-7.  JRT Funday on September 7th!

Brags:    WOO HOO!!!  Moby gets his Tracking Certification!  Now to try and find a TD test to enter this fall.............  Another
great NADAC trial in Dummerston, VT.  Moby had 7 qualifying runs, earning 2 new titles!  Gem had a little less luck with
only 2 Qualifying runs.  For some reason, Gem was running wild and crazy and Moby was running under control!  Role
switch!  :-)  That said, Gem did give me the "favorite run of the weekend", earning yet another Elite Touch and Go Q!!!

Did you know?  The Jack
Russell breed comes in three
types and three variations of
coats?  The Jack Russell Terrier
is registered by
JRTCA, the
Parson Russell is registered by
AKC and the English Jack
Russell is registered by the
EJRTCA.  All have similarities
and differences specific to
their registry.  The three coats
are ruff, smooth or broken,
depending on the type and
amount of hair.  Now you
know!
